Shafer longbow 3 piece or 1 piece?
« on: June 25, 2013, 02:57:00 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has shot both and how they compare?  I have a 66" Shafer longbow now and was thinking about a lighter one. I was thinking that a three piece in 64" might be a good choice. Any one with some experience with both of them?

I have shot both quite a bit and own a 60" 3 pce. The one piece is very similar to the 3 pce in terms of shooting characteristics. I would not go below 64" regardless of draw length.

I forgot; I owned a 1 pc 64" Schafer long bow as well-either my brain is too old or I have bought too many bows! It was a nice bow-beautiful woods and it shot like the 3 pc I still have.
