String material question
«

I picked up an old Darton recurve, thats 52 inches long and 50#'s @28inches. I'm looking to get a new string and was wondering if there is a new string material that I could use on it . I know you can't use Fast flight , or should I stick with Dacron. not sure if it makes a difference but the string is 48"'s long and brace height according to the Darton catalogs is between 9 -9 1/2. I'm not really up on all the string materials. Thank you for your help

B50 Dacron will work just fine with no risk of damaging the bow

There is also a new material called B-55 that is intended for older bows and may give better performance.
Chad at Champion Custom Bowstrings has done considerable testing with it.

B-55 is definately the best of the polyester materials, and what I'd go with.
