Point weight ???
« on: June 30, 2013, 09:52:00 PM »
I am tuning some new arrows.  I am shooting a 52# Timberhawk Monarch 50lb at my draw.  The bow is cut 1/8 past center so with side plate I figure its cut to center. The arrows I am tuning are GT Traditionals 3555 cut 30". I have installed the inserts that came with them. I am shooting a 125 grain point. At 10-15 yards the seem to fly great. At 15-20 flight is terrible.  I have read a few post that  are shooting way heavier tips than me. Do I need to increase tip weight. If so by how much.  Also is you shoot a similar setup to mine please let me know your arrow specs. Thanks in advance.

I shoot very similar setups. Those shafts are stiffer tan you think. Bump about 50-75 grains at the tip. They should be better.
