Just jackrabbits, yotes, marmots and ground squirrels.  Also does not seem to be much acrimony this month

Rabbits are always fair game here in Kansas plus squirrel season is on now. The ticks and chiggers are bad this year tho...
I'm participating in the traditional archery events of the Sunflower Games this month so trying to get in some practice between shifts.

Busy preparing for them. Food plot prep, shooting lanes, trail clean up, foot bridge repair, trail cams, shooting lots of bows, gear round up. No time to fish.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-BOW in one hand-ARROWS in the other-Body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming-WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!

I'm bored. Been raining here off and on for about three weeks. Not had a dry day this week. Still rain in the forecast. Been trying to keep myself entertained. Sharpening broadheads, fletching. Oh well it'll quiet eventually. God bless.

well its time to gather up who ever is there and do some camping up north or near the coasts,,,,, there's always scouting and stumping, plus grilling the meat you got last year while sipping something cold isn't a bad thing either--- maybe some 1000yr old Tenkara fishing is in order too.

It's been over 110 here and I just ain't going out! except at night to watch our mountains burn up. It started by a lightning strike last week and they ignored it because the terrain was too steep, now it's over the top and going down the other side. That sparked them now they've got planes and such out there. It's a shame to see such a beautiful place as Carpenter Canyon looking like a bed of coals at night. Not to mention all the deer, elk, mountain sheep and small game destroyed along with the habitat.

We (three) just reset our club's 3D range. That took us a few days as we worked until it got to hot and the hills got to steep. There is always something to do at the range.
Also working on a bamboo fly rod for the wife. Hope to get in some fishing in the mountains of Az. next week.

I can understand your concern but naturally occurring forest fires are nature's way of keeping the forest healthy and growing. The build-up of vegetation can prevent seeds from germinating and stop the growth of new trees. As long as nobody loses their home, barns, vehicles, etc., forest fires ain't all bad.
