Stinger vs Buzzcut

What are your preferences? Anyone strongly prefer one over the other in a two blade?

I shot both out of my set up a couple years ago (actually the 4 blade versions). Didn't notice a difference. Both worked well on deer, pigs, and coons.

I've used both with great results.

I do believe that the 2bl. buzzcut leaves a better hole/bloodtrail than the 2 bl. Stinger.

But the 4bl. stinger leaves a great wound as well....

Would you guys recommend a 2 or 4 blade for a 55# @ 27" Black Widow?

Either will work.
What I like about the  Stinger 4 bl. is that it is very small. I haven't noticed it reducing penetration (on whitetail), and the small bleeder helps open the wound more = more blood loss. So I would recommend  the 4 bl. over the 2 bl. in Stingers. My longbow is 54#.

However, the 2 bl. Buzz-cut  shot from my longbow, also left a gaping wound on my buck; I won't hesitate to use it again.

So I am going to be the black sheep in this conversation.

As many here know and have read I am a huge fan of the Stinger 4bl. I have killed everything with them from elk to lions to hogs and more.

Last year I won as a door prize some buzz cut 4bl. So I mounted them up and shot my antelope buck with them. Now I have only shot one animal with it and it cut a good hole. But barely had two holes. The deep notches in the blade were completly cloged with hair and tissue covering the sharp edges on the off side.

I will sticking with the 4bl standard when I am shooting stingers.

So have you guys noticed any difference in penetration between them?  Guess I'm asking whether the Buzzcut penetrates as well as the Stinge?

4  You got plenty of uumph and those little bleeders don't slow the arrow down at all... I love both the Buzzcuts and regular.

Guy I know shot a buffalo on a ranch, got a pass through with a buzzcut, the rancher said nobody had gotten that far through one before at his ranch, not even with a wheel bow. Deer I shot last season with a buzzcut didn't even slow the arrow down I don't think. Was about ten degrees out and still for four or five inches of penetration into the frozen ground.

i have shot quite a few deer with both stingers and buzzcuts.  even though they are pretty sharp straight out of the pack, a stinger sharpened on my KME to super sharp makes a big difference on bloodtrails.  i would use the buzzcut if you are not able to sharpen to a razors edge.  on deer sized game, have not seen much difference between the 2 and 4 blade models.  i have found the main blades have been hunting sharp out of the pack but the bleeders definitely need to be sharpened.  just my $.02

The 100 grain Buzzcuts have performed well for me with low 50's recurves from 190-199fps with 380 grain Beman ICS 500's.

All but one passed thru of the 4 deer I have shot with them, and it hit off side shoulder, and the blades sharpened on the back left a fist sized hole where it backed out running through the brush.

Hard to shoot anything else when they shoot where you look, and have a lifetime warranty...here is the biggest bodied one (250-275#)

I've never used the buzz cuts but have used the Stinger 4 blades for years now and I can't see me using anything else. If it works great why change.

I've only ever used the regular stinger 4 blades on deer and really liked them however looking at them I was a little concerned with their design.  Because of the bleeder blade setup up it looks like a weak point to me.  I like the design of the two blade 125 much better and plan to use those for elk this year....probably a non-issue in the long run.  Ferret have you ever had one fail or break on you? Just curious because you've shot them a lot obviously with great success!

The picture above by SS Snuffer is what I'm thinking.....although once it's stuck in the far side leg and breaks it kind of doesn't matter.   :)
