New Engraved Limb Bolt Plates
« on: July 10, 2013, 08:43:00 AM »

I just finished up these Plates for my hunting rig. When I want to remove the bow quiver, I simply unscrew 2 bolts and it's off. The plates add 6 0z. and increase stability. It seems to deminish vibration and it feels like all the energy goes right to the arrow. I've never shot a compound but it seems like a more solid feel. I engraved a little something for them to spruce them up a bit. All in all I couldn't be happier with this project so far. I think I'm gonna name her "Karma".

What holds them on the limb straight? They look great! Very nice workmanship.... i'm just curious of the practical application.

2nd question... would you do some of these for other folks interested? I have a few customers that may like those on their custom bows....  Kirk

Ditto to what Kirk said. I have a couple of bows I would like those on.  I would like one set with Northwest totem theme. I am building a bow with totem inlays in a Macassar riser that something like that with a totem motif would be fantastic.
Great work. God bless, Steve

Thank you Gary, I have my daughters graduation party on Saturday, I won't be attending. Hopefully Sunday to shoot the course. Her mom picked the date. I would love to see ya and perhaps have you shoot this bow, or put the plates on a take down recurve of your own.

Kirk and Steve,  I would love to work with you guys. I have a tons of ideas and I'm sure you'd have plenty of your own. I have been very impressed with the work you guys are doing and it would be an honor to collaborate. I hope this concept for customizing takes hold to open new doors. What I would like to see is if there might be any measurable performance benefit? It gives me the perception of lower noise and a dead feel, less vibration? At 6 oz. I wonder about changing weight, and staggering weight upper and lower.

I would love to do these for anyone so long as it's understood these I make by hand, from scratch and it does take time. I havn't worked out pricing as it all comes down to size, complexity and budget. But I know I can usually work with any budget.

These plates have a gasket material underneath, once tightened to normal setting they do not move. They have not marked or shown wear on my limb yet.

Anyone attending The PBS odd year gathering in the Mid-West this weekend like to shoot my bow? I would love to show the difference with and without the brass plates. I'm interested in others opinions. Ojibwa Archers in New Berlin Wi.
