Hey fellas me and my wife are taking vacation to Gatlinburg soon and I was wanting to try and find some flint while we're up there. Can anybody tell me some good places to look for it?

There are some excellent places in Alabama. Wilson Dam Lower Rock Pile, a TVA park site in Muscle Shoals, AL is where I gather mine for trading. It just falls out of the cliff, excellent stuff. It ought to be a small detour if any coming up.

Hey you are going to the right place that stuff is everywhere in TN! There are several places that might have it along the way and once you get there that are like rock collecting shops. When are you going I could possibly meet you and give you all the flint you can stand to have?

If you'll post when you're taking your trip I might go out and hunt you some up as well. I can't knap, I always trade mine.

Be sure to check out Cade's Cove while you are there for some fantastic wildlife viewing. As with hunting, early in the day and later in the evening are best.
