Some friends and I have been throwing this one around a bit.  All good fun - kinda like what you would do if you won the Power Ball lottery (come on, admit it, you've thought about it yourself even if you don't buy tickets    :p ).

If the Trad Bowhunt Genie offered you ONE wish to hunt anything/anywhere with any Traditional celebrity (living) -
   - What would you hunt?
   - Where would you hunt it?
And, which living trad "celebrity" would it be with?

By "celebrity", it can be anyone that you choose - a notable TG member, a bowyer, a guide, an author, etc. - you get the idea!

What do you say?  If you had that one wish, what would it be    :goldtooth: !

Spot and stalk hunt grizzlies in Alaska with Ted Nugent.  I literally start every deer hunt I go on listening to Fred Bear by Ted.  Of course I would make Ted put down the wheels and pick trad gear up again!
The raising of that flag on Suribachi means a Marine Corps for the next five hundred years.

Sticks and stones will break some bones and feed my family this winter.

There is a place for all God's creatures....right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Bob,  I can't just pick one, you did just say I won the powerball.

I would keep it a little simple though, maybe with a higher success potential than these other guys.

1). Elk with the Wensels.

2). Bear Quest with bow doc

3). Caribou with rcorrbitt and Charlie Lamb

No set order.

Bud B.

Alaskan moose with Fred Bear.

Living?

I'd like to shadow a few guys on here, but I'll not mention names. Too many that I hold in respect to mention some names and not others. I guess there's alot of good folk 'round here.

Colorado Elk with Byron Ferguson, besides being a good show-man and a southerner he's always seemed very approachable for as well known as he is,(think you should have underlined LIVING trad celebrity).
SAVE A STUMP SHOOT A DEER

Spot and Stalk coastal black bears with Don E. Thomas!!

Killdeer

I would like to do a multispecies hunt with AdirondackMountain Ken, with bear on my mind. I would also like to hunt sika with Steve Kendrot and Pinecone. Any hunt with a biologist would be a real boost to my mind and soul. Any shrink worth her salt can come across as a good human bean. Pinecone is, I believe, the real deal. And her bows would fit me.    :bigsmyl:

Killdeer~ my list goes on and on, how about a week hunting ANYTHING with Rough Country?  My joints hurt just thinking about it!
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I would hunt Elk (and make time for some excellent trout fishing)....On my own 10000 acre ranch (I don't have one yet, but that would be part of the Power Ball deal)    :D   ...in whatever state works best for such an arrangement.

I would BE the celebrity, having just won the Power Ball.  I would invite the best tax accountant/trad hunter there is, if such a person exists, and make sure we hide some of that money from The Man!       :goldtooth:

Float hunt the Moose John river, Alaska for moose bou and bears, with several of the trad gang stars here.
shoot straight shoot often

Flying Dutchman

Well, he is not quite a celebrity but I sure would like to go on a bear hunt with Pierre from SBD strings. I would let him decide where.
I would be thrilled to hunt wit him sometime!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

woodchucker

Actualy, old woodchucker is pretty easy to please.....

I'd like to head up to the Adirondacks & hunt "Kenny's mountain" with all my TradGang Brothers... Adkmountainken, Cyclicrivers, Bowspirit, Drewsbow, Toecutter, Frenchymanny, mcgroundstalker, Joe Skipp, RonW, and BOTH of my boys, Tyler & Kevin!!!

Climb the mountain, clear a spot under the huge Hemlocks, and set up a big TeePee. Hunt for a month... All expenses (and lost wages) paid by the Powerball Jackpot!!!!! Far enough in to be "secluded" Yet just a hike (and a gutwrenching climb) away from "resupply" LMAO!!! The storys we'd tell, meals we'd eat, Stumpshoots we'd have, The campfires, and yes... The hunting we'd do!!!!! It would be a memory to last a lifetime..... Also, being as I had a "Genie" to grant me a wish... It would be, to be standing behind Tyler, looking over his shoulder, as he arrows his 1st deer..... A fine looking Adirondack Buck!!!!!

Just one old woodchucker's wish.....
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

SERGIO VENNERI

Roger Rothhaar and I on a Grizzly hunt in B.C or Alaska !

Good post Bob.  Keep them coming guys.

This thread reminds me, or should I say emphasizes why we hunt with a stick and string.  It's not at all about lots of kills or the biggest dead animal (although these things are good   :bigsmyl:   ).  It's the enjoyment of the hunt ... always made better if shared with a friend.  We accept that we have trimmed our chances of success by choosing "two sticks and a string" yet we would not have it any other way.

Killy....You would have been my first choice, but I have got to hang onto some of that money and I just KNOW you'd be conning me into buying three of every trad bow there is!     :bigsmyl:
