Southern Indiana Bowhunt - October 24-27
« on: July 22, 2013, 04:52:00 PM »
The 7th Annual Southern Indiana Bowhunt is scheduled for October 24-27th in Jackson Washington State Forest in Southern Indiana.  Please go here for all the information:    7th Annual Southern Indiana Bowhunt

This always proves to be a fun time and we have even killed a couple deer over the years.  It should be a fantastic time of the year to spend a weekend in the woods.  All are welcome.
Take a kid hunting!

Yes it is.  This will be my main bowhunting getaway for the year so I wanted some good deer movement if possible.  The earlier dates seem to come with warm temps which are great for camping but not as great for hunting.  They should be firing up for the rut by then I hope.

Wow this looks pretty fun. Add in a little self bow action and I don't think it could be more appealing. I have never hunted whitetail deer so this would be a dream hunt to me. I'm not sure if I could pull this off yet but I will have to look into this some more if you don't mined a tag along.

I've thinking about this hunt and wondering if the wheels had started to roll. Checking the calendar now!

I have this awesome little sinewed osage bow that I am hoping to have done for the hunt.  It's made only with minimal handtools, and has a squirrel rawhide string.  I'm gonna shoot some stone tipped cane arrows out of it too.  It's as primitive as I have gotten.

Billy in 2011.  I can't remember if he had the squirrel loincloth on or not.  I'm pretty sure it's Rob's turn this year.  Isn't that right Rob?
I wore it in '09 I think.  Stiff chafing.

Last year, minus the loin cloth.  I think Kris (Stiks-n-Strings) is wearing it though.

Yea, he is.  Look at that smile.  He likes chafing.

Was on the White River this past Friday, saw two does, tons o'squirrels and other assorted critters; the Bald Eagle does not count as
