I get to be someone's "Huckleberry"!
« on: July 23, 2013, 07:09:00 PM »
I was talking with Mr. JD Berry today when he asked a favor of me.

As it turns out Mr. Berry has built a bow of a design that he hasn't tried before.

The bow is a combination of the "Mistydawn" and the Morningstar" in that it is a string follow bow with a reverse handle.

Mr. Berry asked if I would be willing to accept shipment of the bow then put it through it's paces and give him my appraisal of how it performs.

I of course jumped on that plan immediately...lol

I wish I could remember the details about the bow to include now but I will have to fill in the specs on the bow when it arrives.....ole-timers struck again)

After a short period of shooting it I will send it on to the address that will be included in with the bow.

God bless,Mudd

I never knew "huckleberry"  meant you were a bow tester?! Lol! If that is the case I want to be someone's "huckleberry" too. Congrats on the awesome opportunity and I'll be looking forward to the test results.

Mudd,

I know the movie for that quote...great scene.

Congrats.  I'm sure you will make it sing and then provide good input as a "tester".

Mudd,
The term "Huckleberry" back in  it's day meant "pallbearer"! Not sure I  spelt that       correctly... So who are you putin in the ground?                                                  :jumper:

A couple of things this bow taught me today after about 100 or so arrows.

My 1st arrows out of it made me immediately think of a "Bumblebee"(that's not supposed to be able to fly) in that a 62" bow that only draws 42@28 should not be able to shoot like this one.

One is that Mr Berry can build a bow that draws as smooth or smoother than my Vixen.("Amazon Lady")

62" bows can be built with all the good characteristics of a longer limbed bow without the loss of any performance or smoothness.

The conclusion I came to was...I want one for myself and I placed my order...lol

God bless,Mudd

PS: I will get some pictures posted, hopefully before the day is out.

David I am surprised that you'd think that.

The truth is I may not explain things in such a manner that it meets with the standards of all the detailed oriented folks but I will always tell you the truth and in such a way that most can understand.

If I shoot something that I think is a superior bow I will do best to get one of my own.

I can tell you that Mr James had nothing to do with my order other than taking it.

If that was one of his sales methods then by golly it's a good one...lol

I am totally honored to get the chance Mr Berry gave me.

His servant, Mudd

James and Mudd, I sure hope you saw the laughing icon on my post--totally kidding you.  I enjoy your reviews of your experiences with various bows. I have a J D Berry on my list of wanted bows.  My apologies if my post was misunderstood.   :knothead:

David,
I was about to comment on your post. I read the joking nature of it, and I feel they just missed that part.
