Fiberglass Backing on Self Bow

In my opinion an unbacked osage self bow is as good as it gets.  After that I like to back with sinew or rawhide.  I have just finished a few of each.  I have a short piece of osage that I'm working on and think that I need to back it.  My question is: Does that fiberglass cloth and resin work as a backing?
