Read Just Another Old Bowhunter by Tom Kidwell.

Very cool story about this book. Not only is it a great read but I passed mine around a couple years ago.

Someone was looking for a good book, I sent it to him with the request that he pass it on and after a year whoever has it send it back to me.
I am current not at home but many trad guys signed it for me. The last, Dustin, was at a seminar put on by Tom and talked to him. Tom signed it for me and wrote a short piece about a prank on Fred Bear and sent that back to me with the book. He also gave me his next two books!

Was very cool and very touching.

Jason

Reading "Tension on the String" (Mark Baker) and "Whitetail Magic" (Roger Rothaar) is like sitting around a campfire and listening to hunting tales. Great stuff!

An old thread but I'll add my two cents.

Bush Pilot Bowman and Backwoods Bucks by David Bickish.

I second the Fred Anderson books as well as Man Made of Elk by David Petersen. But to that I would add Petersen's new book, Going Trad, as well.

I am presently reading Tension on the String by Mark R. Baker. I haven't yet finished it but it's been a good book thus far.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Once Upon A Tine" by Barry Wensel. He is a great storyteller! I don't like to read but read this book in a few days!

Hearts Blood by David Peterson is a great read, especially if your interested in what it is that compels people to hunt.  Going Trad by David Peterson is great as well.
I also just finished Howard Hill's Hunting the Hard Way and enjoyed it very much.

Anything by Don Thomas is a winner. You also might like "Ishi and Elvis" by Jim Hamm where he builds a self bow while hunting a big buck on a ranch he is recovering from sheep overgrazing - excellent
