Backcountry Hunters & Anglers opens a NE Chapter!
« on: July 23, 2013, 01:45:00 PM »
For anyone living the US northeast, I've got great news. The wilderness-oriented nonprofit, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA)--you've seen their ads for some time in Traditional Bowhunter--has just officially endorsed it's first east coast chapter. The chapter's mission will be the same as the national organization's. As a member and a new board member, I urge you to join BHA

 http://www.backcountryhunters.org/

The more numbers we have in the northeast, the greater our clout. BHA will be fighting to represent hunters and anglers, maintain wild open spaces and solitude. Join up, guys!   ;)

I should also mention that BHA may be the most important hunting/angling organization in the country. Its mission is OUR mission.

Many trad bowhunters join because of BHA's close affiliation with Traditional Bowhunter magazine.

Pat,
I'm a Life Member of BHA living in New Hampshire. Have never lived out west but the principles and direction of the organization are something I can get behind and so mirror traditional archery that I can wholeheartedly recommend it to my brothers of the bow.

I agree I am a long time member in Arkansas, because I totally agree on their principals and goals, hopefully we can get more support in the south...

BHA will be adding the NE chapter to its chapter list on its website in the week or so. Lots of important work ahead of us. Thanks for the encouraging comments!

"Where in NE will it be headquartered?"

Bill, the chapter's co-chairs are based in Vermont and Massachusetts. Other board members live in Maine and NH. So the chapter is genuinely "NE"-based. We're currently seeking interested BHA members who live in CT and RI!

As noted in the previous post, BHA is actively looking for interested BHA-ers who live in CT and RI as potential chapter board members. Please contact me directly if you want to step up your game and make a bigger contribution to preserving wild lands in NE:  patrickgarner  AT  me.com

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it. I'm about 30 miles South of Albany, NY.
