Some Overdue Fun With Cade...
« on: July 28, 2013, 10:29:00 PM »
I got the call..."No work tonight"....so off we went!!

(as a sidenote...all pix and vids were taken with new phone I wanted to try....poor quality!)

Thursday evening frogging for the 1st time this year...

Great fun and if we shot better, we could have killed at lease twice as many!!!!

The big heads worked good, but with the low angle out of the canoe, they sometimes caught weeds laying on the water in front of the frogs, or around the frogs before they got to their targets....but the ones Cade hit solid they worked great...

Since the canoe was already loaded, we figured we'd hit the river for some bowfishing in the morning....stay tuned....

The next morning we were on the river before the sun came up...

(Another side note.....these HD video's are better and were taken with my point and shoot cam on a short tripod that I was strapped to the crossbrace in front of me in the canoe. All I had to do was reach down to get it going and it could roll while I paddled)

When we got upriver to some shallower water that we could wade, we got out to sneak around a bit...
•

While we were out the fish were scarce, but I did get in on one fish that would have been a piece of cake shot, I turned around to let Cade shoot it, but by the time he caught up to me I could barely see it...never did get a shot!

So we headed back down river toward the truck...
•

•

And one he swore he hit    :dunno:

He did all the shooting and the shots were few and far between. He missed a couple others that I didn't get on film...but he was so happy that he made one count!!

Hopefully we'll get out again soon!!

Curt,
Looks like you two had a blast and I noticed in that little video clip of you shooting Curt that bow you were shooting had a little recoil or "After Shock" in it ...    :biglaugh:
