Striker bows...WOW!!!
« on: July 29, 2013, 05:32:00 PM »
I have had the opportunity to shoot a bunch of different bows from different bowyers and I can honestly say that none of them were what I would call bad.  They all seemed pretty much the same to me, some might be a little prettier or a little faster or a little....whatever.  That all changed this past weekend at Denton Hill!  I was able to shoot some Striker bows by Rick Ellis.  Wow is all I can say.  Every bow I shot was quiet, smooth and my arrows looked like rockets taking off.  I often heard guys on here talk about a bow that just "shoots where you point it" and I never knew what that was like til now.  Anyway, I was so impressed I picked up a 58" Stinger that I fell in love with.  Like I said earlier almost every bow that I've shot has been good, but I would encourage any of you to look at Striker bows if you're looking for another bow.

Sam, had a similar experience at Denton as well.  I was never a huge fan of the 3 piece take down but shot a few of Rick's bows and am seriously considering getting a fast back.  May be taking a trip to visit Rick soon.
Thanks for the post.

My wife wants to get into traditional shooting, after shooting a compound for several years, so at Denton I had her looking at a lot of bows, she just kept going back to the Striker booth saying that they felt "right".  So Santa maybe going through Ohio.
An archer tries to find ways to shoot further more accurately, a bowhunter tries to get as close as possible to ensure his shot is accurate.

His new Fastback riser keeps catching my eye. Did you try one of those?

Beachbowhunter, yes, I did shoot the fastback and will be ordering one soon.  They were phenomenal...just like every other bow of his that I shot!

Rick makes a lot of nice bows. I have one of my own and enjoy both the looks and performance. They are light, fast, look great, and accurate. I know why you fell for them.
