Personally, I use epoxy. I'm sure someone will come along with a good hot melt for you.
Whatever glue you use be sure to clean the inside of the tips before gluing. The oil left from manufacturing will screw up the bond of all glues.
I think not cleaning the tips is the leading cause of tips coming off when they aren't supposed to.

Apple low temp glue sticks.  I've been using it for years on wood, carbon and aluminum and have yet to lose a point or insert.

What Grey Taylor said. Use something like rubbing alcohol or finger nail polish remover inside with a Q-tip. Haven't lost a point in a while, unless I was shooting in very cold weather at a stiff target.

I use big Jim's low temp melt glue.
What I like compared to epoxy is that it is easily reversible.

Manny, epoxied points are easily removed in the same manner that hot melt glued points are removed. It may take a slight bit more heat but still not nearly enough to endanger the wood shaft.

Thanks everyone, maybe I did not clean inside the point well enough.

Thanks Sam

Big Jim's, it works great, easy to use and holds like iron.
