I have been shooting two fingers for 50 years; didn't know not to
I don't know how my bow is tuned differently; I have shot other peoples bows with no problem... but I learned to shoot with mismatched arrows; so my mind is always making adjustments.
Two fingers makes for a good release - for me at least!
I once broke my wrist and used a release strapped to above my elbow so I could draw ( used a belt to get the distance for my draw correct).
When I broke my shoulder I shot a buck with my bow duct taped to my foot.
I would practice with two fingers and if you can't get good; then use a release until your mended
