My deer season starts in October or November, after we've had at least two hard frosts!  I won't hunt in the heat and humidity and I refuse to share the woods with the chiggers!

Didn't get out yet. I'm still in search of private land and haven't succumbed to buying into a club yet. My season starts September 2nd at the local WMA. Good luck Ya'll

I am headed out tomorrow afternoon. I have a Booner tied to a tree! Well, I can at least have a positive attitude!

This is the coolest opener that I have ever seen here in SC! I might even wear long pants instead of shorts!

You darn low country boys with your Aug. 15... I have to wait another two weeks before I can give a deer a Zwickey hickey! Bad thing is I'm only a county away from that early season.

Counting down the days. I finally got a small food plot in the ground today.  I've had a ton of does and small bucks on the trail cam so far and I'm itching to have a prayer meeting with any of them!

I spent many a sweltering afternoon in a tree or the New River swamp near Bluffton, SC on opening day. Even the mornings were sweltering, just not quite as sweltering as the afternoons. And, that was before Thermocells.

Velvet 6pt in the freezer taken 8/16. Wanted to be and 8 but G3's almost an inch. Sorry no pics, was fighting the rain. It was surprisingly cool for the opener 8/15, NEVER hunted in mid 60's here in SC in August.

Nomad, got a few hogs and deer tied up for you. Pics of a piebald doe on other lease and club president says there a cull deer, we will have to go after her.

I think the last time I hunted the low country was about 1959 at the Clurock Plantation out of Ridgeland.

"Rain, rain go away and come back another day" - when I'm not hunting!  hahah... I tried to hunt Sunday and got soaked.
