Most assuredly...it will kill at those yardages with no problem, a good sharp 2 blade will do alot of damage.

A quatering shot with your set up will work fine, my girlfriend killed a nice hog with her 40 bear recurve. I will venture to guess that her hog was a little tougher than the average whitetail. Enjoy!

Man I hope so, I've got one that is 41#'s. Wait a minute, I got a clean pass through with a 50# bow last year that shoots the same arrow 19 fps slower than my 41# bow so I should be OK.

This should answer your question. 15 yards with a self cedar bow at 40#s. If you can handle more poundage go for it as long as you control the bow and it does not control you. I love 45#s
