In Praise of The Nocking Point
« on: August 15, 2013, 03:59:00 PM »
About a couple years ago I was complaining to a friend about a very poor customer service experience I had with a large trad archery shop. I got my parts ok but questions I had regarding an issue with the order were ignored and I was essentially told to shut up and deal with it.

My buddy Sal suggested   The Nocking Point  . He'd met Mike and Brenda at MOJAM and had been impressed by them.
Since that time I've made many orders with The Nocking Point and have never had an issue with anything. I am comforted to know that if I ever do have a question or problem the owner of the shop will be the one answering the phone when I call and he'll be doing everything reasonable to fix things.

A couple days ago I emailed a small order to Brenda (she does the computer end) and indicated that I wished a particular credit card I'd used in the past to pay for the order. Yesterday while I was away from the phone and the computer all day I got an email as well as a phone call that there was a problem with the credit card.
I called Mike this morning to see what was up and we discovered a single wrong number in what he had on file. We got it straightened out and I figured I'd see my parts in a couple or three days.

Imagine my surprise when the postwoman dropped off a box a little bit ago and it was my Nocking Point order. Mike had filled and sent my order with the trust that it would be payed for one way or another.
Guys, you can't beat customer service like that. If you're looking for a good shop to get your parts and supplies from I can't recommend The Nocking Point highly enough. Mike and Brenda are good folks and they're part of our Clan like a large corporate shop never will be.

Thanks for reading,  Guy

Mike and Brenda are great people.  I'm gonna hate to see them retire, but the new guy who's taking over is a great guy too.

I will certainly miss Mike and Brenda.  Waiting on what schedule the new owner will follow as far as attending the archery circuit.

Mike & Brenda are the best. Great customer service, competitive prices, fast, reasonable shipping. Other, bigger places may offer pretty much the same thing but I'd rather support the smaller businesses.

Some dude who sets up across from him at the McAlester shoot. His name escapes me.  He's the guy who sells all the Asbell wool and the GFA gear.  He's a cool guy, and Mike Horton wouldn't turn the Nocking Point over to someone who wouldn't do it justice.  New shop will be located in Sand Springs.

Also, if you are already on Mike's mailing list you should continue to get flyers and stuff.

They are a pleasure to do business with. If you ever stop by Mikes shop and need help with anything, then you will see him bend over and do his best to help out.
