Brace Height 8" ???
« on: August 21, 2013, 03:04:00 PM »
I just got done shooting and setting up my Dale Dye for hunting this year. Anybody have a bow that shoot great with a 8" + brace height. its a 62" TD Dale Dye. my string broke or started to break so I put on a string from my Morrison to see how it would shoot and the first thing I saw was o man that's to big of a brace height took it down a few twist and shot it for HAHAHAs.

It was awesome shoots even better then before, I have been shooting for over 25years and never had one that high or least never tried it.

Anyone else that high??  I mean Brace height !!

I shoot the widow in my sig and I normally kept it aroung 7 5/8 but my archery guy I know who shoots trad quite a bit suggested I try 8 and I really like it! I think it brought down the noise considerably.

MA II Widow, 60" 60# @28 set at 8.25 inches.  Actually all my Widows MA's and PMA shoot best for me at 8.25, throat of grip to string.

Lots of my bows are right at 8"s, none lower than 7.5"s. My new Caribow Tukto EX shoots best at 7.75"s. Shawn

Black widow manual actually suggests up to 9" brace height for their PMA and PSA. I find mine shoots best and quieter at 8 3/4" .

Every one of my Dale Dye's has a brace height of 8-8 1/8".

As I recall, in Dale's Trail's End brochure (not sure if he still sends it out), he states that brace heights should be between 7.5 and 8.5".
