Great way to sharpen broadheads and test sharpness
« on: August 23, 2013, 02:07:00 AM »
Here is a video I just made that compliments the podcast on broadheads that will be published on monday. This shows how I sharpen my heads, the sharpening system i built (best system i have ever used. use it for my heads and my knives) and a cool way to test sharpness without shaving.

When you started scrubbing back and forth with the file you lost me... A file only cuts in one direction, pushing forward.. When you pull the file back across your work piece you're just dulling your file.

Pat, you are correct but it lets me move fast and keep the same angle. trying to go fast and resetting the stroke everytime takes longer. When im doing a dozen new broadheads at a time and they all need thier angles changed the scrubbing goes much faster. Thats why i showed that you can do both normal strokes or scrubbing strokes whatever you want to the choice is yours. I have never noticed any dulling to the file. Broadheads are really soft so i dont think they would dull a file.
