Carbons for a Treadway Longbow

Im in need of some assistance as i dont have a lot of time to play around. I shoot a 64' Treadway Longbow 52 lbs @ 28' and draw 27.5 at around 48 lbs. I have a dozen uncut 3555 gold tip trads. If I cut these to 30' with the standard insert and a 125 gr point, the will only weigh aroun 410 grs. I want around 10 GPP. So Ideally 480-500 grains total arrow weight. If I put a 100 gr brass insert in with the 125 gr point, what length would you folks reccomend the arrow to be for correct spine. Thanks a lot.

Try them at 30"s which is full length anyway with the 225 up front they will be close ans believe it or not you may need more up front like 250. Shawn

sell them, and get arrows the weight you want, you should look at arrows around 340g or 350g plus a head and there you are , I shot around 600g from 45# recurve, but i do like um heavy.

leave them full length, unfletched. use 100 grain insert and 125 gr point, or whatever grain broadhead u will use. I keep them the same so tune doesnt change between FP and BH. Bareshaft them, and it should be real close. if weak, shorten shaft in small increments untill it flies perfect, but i bet u will be in the money right there.

I shoot GT Trads 3555 at 29 1/2" length with 175 grain field tips out of my 44 and 50# Treadways. I use 135 grain Zwickey Deltas on 100 grain adapters for hunting and get excellent flight all the way around.

Is the Treadway center cut? I'm shooting a Stewart Slammer (center cut) 50@28,I draw 28.25". Shooting Gold Tip Trads 3555 cut 29.375" w/ standard inserts and 200grn up front (equals 9.8grn per inch).
I would suggest starting full length, standard inserts and 200grn or 225grn up front. If you want to use brass inserts, I would use 50grn inserts w/ 150grn or 175grn up front to start.
FYI: 100grn brass inserts go deeper in the arrow therefore stiffens the arrows shaft.
Anyone of the above setups will put you around 10grns per inch.

r-man, why would he sell them. They are spined correctly for his bow with the right point weight. I should add that for hunting whitetails and thin skinned game that 8-10 gpp. is plenty. I have killed several whitetails and coyotes shooting 42#s and 8gpp. with a 28.5" draw. Do not worry about the 100 grain insert stiffening the arrow it is a tad longer and most of us are not good enough shots to notice a difference. As I said try the 125 head with 100 grain insert and add a footing of aluminum about 1.25-1.5"s and this will give you about 240 grains up front. I bet that will have you right there. Shawn
