arrow making question....
« on: January 19, 2007, 08:10:00 PM »
Ive decided to taper some of my cane and dowel arrows to accept glue on points. However, i have hit a snag. Most glue on points are 5/16. So how do i make that work on cane (which is always larger than that) and on 3/8 dowels? Oh and i just bought a stationary disk/belt sander today to make a taper jig out of. Thanks for the help guys.

I've never had any problems getting 5/16, 11/32 or 23/64 glue on points, most all archery suppliers have them.

If your shafts are a little larger than the points, you shouldn't have any problems. The problem is trying to put a larger point on a smaller diameter shaft.

I've put 11/32 points on 3/8 shafts without any problems. And like loco said, 11/32 and 23/64 points are commonly available.
