I live in the bay area and would absolutely love to see a deer strapped to the roof of a prius. Better yet, park in the whole foods parking lot on the way home.

I once had 3 Sitka Blacktails stuffed into a VW Rabbit. Of course, I was only driving a few miles, from the boat dock to my house, but they did fit. I also had a 300# black bear stuffed into it. That car was a serious piece of junk, and I was a young, single, construction worker, so bad odors in my vehicle weren't of any consequence to me.

Now, though, if I were in your shoes, I'd see if boning out a carcass is legal in your area.  A boned out whitetail will easily fit in a small cooler. I'd then make sure to put the head and hide in a sturdy plastic bag. The last thing you want in your vehicle are a multitude of ticks and fleas.

I have a Prius for my commute (35 miles every day) - if everything goes right my new hunting spot will be closer to work then home, which means the Prius might see some game!

If I am lucky enough to snag my first deer this year I'll be sure to snap a photo of it in the trunk (it's plenty roomy!).

just strap it along the roof of the car like a canoe and go to town and through the drivethru at mc'Ds.
I know some boys that do it all the time when they get a big one.(just to show off).

When the gas prices went up a few years back  I traded my Dodge 4X4 in for a new Saturn s.u.v  and went from 13 mil per gal to around 25 mil per gal . With the back seats folded down the Deer a few Turkeys and a lot of other small game, seem to have no complaints about the ride.

I used to own a chevy corsica, took out the back seat on October 1 and put it back in mid January.  Had all the room I needed.

My '07 Corolla gets 37 mpg.  My explorer maybe 12 mpg.  My best spot is 120 miles roundtrip.  So 3 gallons x $3.70 = $11.10 vs, 10 gallons x $3.70 = $37.

Here are 2 mature does in the back of it.  I had room for 2 more since I wasn't hauling much gear.

Last year I had a 180# - 8 point my daughter shot + my two kids, a stand, 2 packs, and a couple seats.  And it was still a pretty comfy 60 mile drive.
Take a kid hunting!

Gutless method , see the attached thread, I often drive my Toyota paseo and was able to put my deer in the trunk still on my pack frame for the drive back to Denver.

In KY one could tele-check their deer and then begin "processing" by quartering and bagging for the car.

My daily driver is a little hatchback Honda Fit, with the rear seats folded flat you'd be surprised at how much room you have for hunting gear in that thing. I keep a big Rubbermaid in the back for hauling out animals and the stand/bow/everything else sits right in beside it with no issues.

I've gotten some funny looks all loaded down and my buddies are always askin me when I'm going to get rid of that thing for a truck but until it stops getting me and all my gear from point a to point b I don't see a reason to change (37 mpg for the commute is pretty darn hard to let to of).

Arguably one of the best threads on TradGang as of late.

Don't forget to redirect the exhaust if you use a hitch hauler.  I've melted large rubbermaid totes after long drives.

I have a truck and an old jeep and I always field quarter my deer and pigs. I have a cooler full of ice waiting at the truck if its hot. Getting them to the truck is the biggest physical demanding problem.I would fair just fine with a volkswagon.

Does anyone spray their vehicle with Permetherin for ticks if you don't skin it?
