G.P.S.H. for 2007
« on: November 23, 2006, 12:50:00 PM »
The Great Pennsylvania Squirrel Hunt will once again be held at Shawnee State Park, Schellsburg, Pa., on Saturday, January 6th, 2007.

We will meet at picnic area #9 right behind the park office at 7:30AM.

Shawnee is located on US Rt. 30, just ten miles west of Bedford, Pa.   Coming in from the Rt. 30 side...go to T and bear right.  Go across both bridges and up the hill after second bridge.  At the top of the hill you will see the park office on left hand side.  Make a left on road just before office.  Picnic area is app. 1/4 mile on left.

You can pick up a license via the internet if you want to come in from another state.  Go to:  www.pgc.state.pa.us

It's a blast...and sometimes we even see a squirrel or two.

Probably 2 1/2 hours.  Maybe you can hitch a ride with Phil Magistro, he lives near Reading.

Dont forget the wine and cheese!!

I'm really looking forward to it- as usual!

Jared will be there and most likely at least, 2 of his buddies. I'm hoping the Scanlon family will be able to show up as well.

The squirrels seemed disinterested at first, but they are talking it up now.  They seem to think we're a humorous bunch with the shooting skills of KoolAid-impaired cub scouts.   I'm not saying they're wrong....it just pi$$e$ me off a bit.

RC....It's porterhouse steaks not N.Y. Strip, but I guess we could lower our standards this year.

Dale....No Ripple this year...we want the $3.00 good stuff.

Whoever is checking the lodge better get to it fairly soon, and get your nutters in order.

I'll be there too!

This year I PROMISE to be on time!

George, how about a pre-hunt re-con mission? I'm always up for a hunt. Maybe I could drag Scott out for a day, and I'm sure Joe is anxious too.

"This year I PROMISE to be on time!"

I'm going to be there just to see if that holds up.   :)

Looking forward to this.  Each year we get closer to actually killing a squirrel. I think this year we've worked up to at least getting a shot.
