Anyone using Banana feathers

Hey all, just finished up a set of port orford cedars and topped them out with 5.5 chopped banana feathers. Shot the 5 practice arrows that I made up the same as the broadhead arrows and noticed the buzz of the arrow as it was heading to the target. Anyone use banana feathers on there hunting set up?

I use 5 1/2 inch and have set up a camera, i have not had any buzzing.

I'm shooting them for the first time. This batch I made is 5" banana's I burned.  I thought they looked cool so wanted to try them this year. I don't notice much differance in noise, but I don't hear overly well in the first place.

I think the low profile bananas fly a little better and less noise.

I have naners on my current setup. One of my arrows has a little whistle to it the rest are quiet. Not sure what I did different on the one arrow

I've noticed noise with larger, or higher profile nannas, but not with low pro.  Maybe a little 'hissy' but nothing like Pope and Young fletching.

I've used Magnus' low profile nanners for quite awhile.  Being wild Turkey, they last longer than any of the commercial feathers I've used and very quiet in flight.

I use them. But for fun and target, small game. For the reason u stated is why I don't use them to hunt big game or Turks.
Magnus makes nice ones. Low profile is what you want if noise is a factor.

My 5" bananas must be low profile because I don't anything. I'm using them as my hunting setup this year. Hopefully gonna be covered in red if given the opportunity for a shot.

Bad as my eyes are, I would be afraid of fletching them backwards, talk about some noise

I have used 5" low profile bananas for about 5 years now. I use a very hard helical when fletching them up and have no noise from them at all.

Been using 4 1/2" low cut bananas for almost 10 years. I burn them myself.  Quietest feather I have.

Here are the arrows that are in question. They shoot great, are 576grs, hit like hammers. I am considering purchasing a feather burner to get these feathers down to a lower profile, but I in the distance that I will be shooting I might just leave these arrows alone and let them eat. decisions decisions

I have shot banana fletch for years. Love the look and the way they fly. On new ones I fletch up I will get some noise, but it decreases as they wear a little bit. Interesting thing I have noticed is that a deer does not seem to spook near as much with these as with the parabolics I used to shoot when you miss. I think something about the pitch of the noise maybe. I probably have way too much experience watching deer's reactions when you miss.

funny that you say that Dan, I was gonna say they probably get quieter as the edges fray some(like owl feathers are quieter than a hawks)    I haven't been shooting them long enough yet to figure that one out.

Emfunk...have been shooting the tall 5' and 5.5" bananas for about 5 years now....most are USUALLY very quiet, but as importantly they get control of the broadhead quickly and enter the target STRAIGHT ...even at 10 yards..! Yes, I know arrow spine has alot to do with this, but I feel they come out of paradox quicker with the big bananas...I personally love them....my favorite...!! P.s......I love those ones of yours as well.......john
