Well...  First, thanks for all the welcomes.  Second, my trad hunting journey has taken the first step...

It's official.  I have applied for and received an archery deer tag.  The Grizzly my family gave me is shooting as well as I can manage.  The arrows are tuned with the broadheads, and they have in turned been re-sharpened.

I think I will be good to go, so long as I have an opportunity within a self imposed limitation of 18 to 20 yards.  Don't have much opportunity to practice at ranges longer than that.

Our season for archery is pretty generous - all things considered, and like most archery hunting, time is an ally.  I don't reckon trad hunting will be that much different.

I am looking forward to 28 September.
