Broadhead choice, Steel Force?

Hi fellas,
I'm about to settle on some broadheads this weekend. I'm shooting a 60 pound fast flight Northern Mist longbow with 2016 Easton Legacy arrow and 145gr points. Shooting very good for me. I lack in the sharpening skills department. I am eyeing up some Steel Force Hellfire 4 blade 150s. They are 18.99 for three. Are these a good head? Cost less or dang close to other heads I need to sharpen, mount on adapters
etc. Thanks!

I never had any issues with Steele Force Hellfire Broadheads. They are sharp right out of the box with no audible whistling. I have been blessed to have harvested several nice bucks using SF Hellfire broadheads including the one in my avatar. They are a tough broadhead even after hitting bone. I have my arrows tipped with SF Hellfire 150gr. broadheads now for opening day in Delaware!!

Sounds good enough to me! At the price I can buy them at with a lifetime re-sharpening free, how can I go wrong?

That's what I want to see! I setup my ambush spots so I'm within 20 yards and usually under 15. Out of my 60 pounder it should be a good match and recovery if I do my job.

I shoot 57 pound recurve and I never had a deer make it over 40 yards. I always get great penetration as well. I have found them easy to tune too. SF Hellfire BHs are surely a devastating broadhead. If you do your job, expect a quick recovery!! Let us know how you make out.

Oh by the way, a good friend just reminded me that you can send your broadheads back to Steel Force and they will resharpen them for you free of charge, you just pay for the shipping and handling.

Yes Bear Heart,,I can assure you they are Elk tough. I first started using these heads on the advise of a good friend in Clovis New Mexico who uses nothing but SF Hellfire BHs on elk.

One could make the case that the 145gr Steelforce Phathead is the finest 145-150gr screw-in head on the market.
Here's the 3 Rivers link. Read the reviews, which are all 5 star reviews. I agree 100%.

The Steelforce link...

You can special order different metals on the Phathead, if you call Steelforce.

I have taken two deer with the Hellfires. I had one tip curl like an elf shoe in the deer when bone was hit on the exit side. I Rockwell tested the head at 45 which is too soft in my opinion. The heads I have are a couple of years old so they may not be the same now. Other than that I like the heads, but I won't use them.

I am also worried that the diameter is listed at 1". That leaves no margin for error in my state where 1" is the minimum.

You guys do realize that Phatheads have been among the most popular, game killing heads for a number of years now and some trad guys are just finding out about them.
They are razor sharp out of the box, Steelforce will resharpen them for you and I've never had anything but complete passthru's with them.

You have to wait till after Jan. 1st to send them back for re-sharpening. I never had a tip curl on the 150 hellfire serrated 4 blade. I even use the same broad head on several deer. Killed a bear with them also.
