shooting last night
« on: September 06, 2007, 08:05:00 AM »
I went up to a buddys for dinner last night & brought my compound to shoot in the backyard. I havent shot it much lately because I have dedicated the season to my long bow. After 15 minutes of 40 yard shooting & silently walked to the truck & pulled out my Northwind Gem. The guys went crazy & couldnt wait for me to shoot it. Well as luck would have it the first shot at 20 yards was dead center. They couldnt believe how quick it was & how silent. The three of them took turns for the next hour or so shooting it. It turned out to be the higlight of the night & I may have a few converts soon. I couldnt wait to get on here & tell everyone. Mike

I did that earlier this summer at a cookout. Brought a couple of my 45# bear recurves along with my girlfriends recurve. There was a nice open field behind the house we were at so I decided to throw some ariel targets for her. It wasn't 10 minutes later I had 2 compound shooters and 2 more in the waiting flingin flu flus at the targets. The best part was that when we were done, they all had smiles on their faces. I simply said "when was the last time you had this much fun missing targets with your compound?" Needless to say, at every cookout we have had since, they have asked me to bring the bows. Its only a matter of time before I get the call saying "I just bought my first stick bow, wanna come over and shoot?"
