There was a thread on here a short while back talking about mirrored blinds and it provided the "kick in the pants" I needed to get to the re-make of mine.

As I said before there was something that just bothered me about the 1st one I built so I tore it apart and rebuilt it... well that one was worse than the 1st so I tore it apart and I hadn't gotten around to doing it all over again until now.

Here is the latest and last re-build. I think I have it how I want it.

This is set up in the end of my garden.

A litte closer look.

Thanks for looking.

God bless,Mudd

Did you make it look like tombstones on purpose? Seems ironic that it is built for you to hide and kill something and resembles a grave site.....HA

Hey Mudd, I was the one who started the thread - yours looks great!  The tombstone look is really just a simple way of having a balance between cover and shooting ports.

Looks good Roy.  You got the Mylar to lay perfectly flat this time.....no distortion to the reflection.  Hope it serves you well this season.

Mirror blinds always seemed like an interesting concept to me but have to wonder if the critters would spook once they saw themselves moving at close range.  I mean, wouldn't you run away if suddenly you saw you walking past you, lol.  And how do you get the shot off if the critter keeps staring at his image in the mirror and then sees you popping out of himself?      :scared:

If an animal gets close enough to see itself with the downward angle that the blind sits, it will only run away after the arrow has passed through it...lol

Than you all for the kind words.

Great job Mudd! Looks very well built. What did you use for materials in this one, and about how much do you have invested? If you don't mind my asking of course.

One bathroom wall board from Menards(I got it for $10. since it was a cover sheet)

The mirrored Mylar I ordered from a greenhouse supply company.(about $25)
I still have some left over after using enough to build this blind this over and over(3X's)...lol

Hi-strength 3M-90 spray on adhesive.(about $15)

The zip ties that hold the whole thing together and allow it to be folded I've had for years so I can't tell you how much they cost.

Getting it right on the 3rd try....priceless!!...lol

One thing I forgot to mention.

I attach a small rope on both sides at the top which I use as an anchor to prevent the wind from affecting it.

God bless, Mudd

Do you have any pictures of the back side?  Did you build a frame or is the wall board sturdy enough be its self.

No frame, just stands alone. I can get pictures of the back side if you like but it's just camo'ed up.

Do you stake the ropes to the ground or tie them off on something?

Cool Mudd. I'd also like to see some pics of the back side.  Might also be cool to see some pics with you sitting behind it.

OK but please give me a little time.

I'd like to wait for a day or so, the temps are supposed to drop.

The temps drop just enough to make me try this without drowning altogether in sweat...lol

I set this up on what would represent an open field which in my opinion would be one of the most difficult locations to hunt.

Nice looking salad patch. Oh, there's a blind in it. And there's Mr. Mudd peeking out. Looks like it oughta work to me.

If that salad was in my yard it would be full of deer in no time. You could take two of those blinds and surround yourself and sit right in the middle of the salad patch.
