New Tall Tines
« on: September 12, 2013, 09:31:00 AM »
I just got my new Tall Tines bow, and its the best one yet. Brian out did himself with this one. Last year when I was in Hawaii, I was at a flea market and come across a wood dealer and bought two pieces of Koa wood. I thought it would be great to have a bow made from that wood from the island. I wasn't sure how good a piece it was but soon after he had it Brian said it had great grain and color. I'll be taking it to Iowa with me this year as I drew one of those sought after tags. I'll get some pictures together so you can see how nice it is.

Man Gary.  You DIDN'T mention that the other day on the phone.  Remind me to never play cards with you.  Your way to good at holding in the excitement.

Please bring it along this weekend, i would love to see it.  I almost went with Koa on my TT, but opted for Macassar Ebony instead.  I'm positive yours is beautiful.

And this ^^^^^^^^^ is why one should not make posts without checking with their "technical advisor" first if they are not capable of posting their own pictures    :knothead:

Gary and I ordered another set of LH/RH TallTines twins with his Koa wood. Brian made some sweet wave risers with Koa and Wenge and put one of his awesome checkering jobs on.  I have some custom T/D knobs ordered for them and wanted to   WAIT UNTIL THEY WERE COMPLETELY DONE before putting up any photos.

Right now this is all I have:

And am not sure when I will have time to take more. I am sure Gary will have his laying on a big Iowa buck by the time November rolls around though.

I feel bad Gary hosed you guys like that.  All I can do now are some iPhone pics of mine.  They are long riser medium limb models for 62" bows.  Mine is 53# @ 28" and I draw 30".

I really like the looks of the Koa.  Now I'm already thinking of getting on the waiting list for another.

You are going to have to pick another wood. BW does not stock Koa. This was a very special order and Gary only brought back enough for our two bows. I may end up taking this one to Africa next year just so the Chimaster is there with me.
