Hit one in the head
« on: September 15, 2013, 11:58:00 PM »
Ground hog that is and yes that was where I was aiming.  Walking in to my stand he ran for his hole which was only 12 yards from me.  He made the mistake of given me enough time to get a hammer head on the string and then stood up.    :scared:   I think he wasn't sure if I was just an ugly cow or real danger.  Every time time I shoot one in the body they bite my arrows in half so for now on head shots only.

I'm impressed you killed it with the small game head. Those things are tough!

All he did was fall over and quiver when 725 grains hit him.    :knothead:   Made a loud crack and that was it.

Leave him lay in the field and feed the critters.    :D
The next day I was surprised not to see buzzards on him but 5 bald eagles, 1 adult and 4 immatures.
