scouting and a walk.....
« on: September 18, 2013, 04:24:00 PM »
I have had a bunch of stuff going on lately and did not have a chance to check out a spot on private land that I have access to. So this afternoon I went over there to make sure I still was good to go with the land owner. After talking and catching up he said all was good and he's been seeing some deer around. I took my bow and some judos and took a walk. One spot that I had several close encounters last year still holds promise. I fixed up last years hides and put in 2 new ones. No matter which way the wind is I can hunt this spot now. Touched up another blind and shoot a few stumps.....not a bad 3 hours.

I'm sure it feels goo to get out there in the woods. Also to know that you have a place to hunt!

After last year being a year of hell due to health.

This year is shaping up and I am doing the same thing, I walked and spent a good 2 days checking out ground blinds and just shooting a few stumps.

I wish all get a good deer this year and enjoy each day spent out in the woods and please all be safe.

Good Luck this year Ron. You definitely put the time in so this should be your year. From what Ken tells me you could hunt with a different bow every day of the season.   :biglaugh:

Bill, Glad your health is back to a place where you can hunt again.  Good luck this season.

What Ron forgot to tell everyone is that he had a few Cardiac encounters on this property last  year.  Funny how deer at 5 yards on the ground can do that to a fellow  :readit:
