primary/secondary fletching question
« on: September 22, 2013, 09:33:00 AM »
I have fletchings made from both primary and secondary turkey feathers. would there be an issue with mixing them when fletching arrows? I'm thinking there won't be but I'm sure someone out there does it and knows the result.

thanks in advance

I don't mix 'em Danny. Secondaries are thin and soft and loud! They may be OK for target shooting but not for hunting. Stick with the primaries..........Art

Ditto what Art said!! Secondaries are fine for target/small game arrows but they whistle like a bugger. They are also not as waterproof as primary feathers.
