Badger broadheads...any kills yet?

thinking about trying some badgers....anybody actually stuck a critter with them yet?  they look pretty wicked

I purchased several with the idea of hunting with them but deer season snuck up and I realized I didn't have them sharp.  I have not yet learned how to sharpen a single bevel very well so opening weekend I went to my trusty Magnus II and ended up filling my tag before I could get a KME sharpener and get the Badgers sharp.  Next year for sure.

One thing for sure is that the FLY GREAT!  I tuned them in and they slap the target right where you point them.

Cant wait until next year to see how they perform (hopefully).

I'd like to try them but I'm afraid they would be classified as barbed and that would make them illegal to hunt with in Pa.  Look like nice and sturdy heads. Can't wait to see how they work out for you guys.

Hey coonbait, I'm pretty sure they are legal in PA, I read the regs and didn't see any barbed heads restriction. We had a good week last week, I will try to post some pics, of a couple of Badger kills

I was thinking the same thing. Barbed. I will double check later unless they pulled that or reworded it. But it did say barbed. It's because the heads are not square at the rear.

Still having a problem getting them sharp enough to hunt with.
But they do fly great!
I have 1 more week to get them sharp, If not its back to the eskimos.

Stump...are you trying too hard?...I think you are the one that started the other thread...

Hit the bevel side, making sure you are flat to the bevel or barley off to the edge side...then turn over and lite stroke 2-3 times with an almost flat angle...its really not hard.

BTW...so far I've chased 3 bears and tried to cut another one off.....so hopefully soon.

Terry have tried the way you suggested, still not sharp enough to my standards.
Maybe I'm to picky. I lost an elk earlier so i'm even more concerned about sharpness now.

I had a buddy shooting them at the range yesterday and just now realized they are not legal in WA.  Too bad because they flew great.

well I didn't see anything in Ohio regs about barbed...I really thought they used to be illegal here....so I guess I'll give them a shot

Sadly, I'm out too since I do a good bit of my hunting in NY ... no barbed heads

Legal in Oklahoma, I think they changed the broadhead restrictions to just a min width of 7/8ths,  I had NO trouble sharpening them, to me the single bevel is the easiest thing to sharpen. These do fly great, I bought some this year just to try out,and I like them!

I think everyone better check their laws again too, I know several states that removed that language,  Im pretty sure Illinois was one of them.

well maybe I ain't crazy then lol....could have swore they were illegal in Ohio but checked anyway...barbed isn't mentioned anywhere
