Well hard work does pay off! Here are some pics of my first elk last week in Western CO. Beautiful weather and lots of elk. This one came in late on Thursday eve, stopped at 25 yds after hustling his cows.... ran about 75 yds then rolled down the mountain to the bottom in the creek! Just like a sheep hunt I've heard... Many thanks to the members here who have given me advice and counsel for the last several months. Elk shot with a Sarrels 3 piece Blue Ridge, homemade DF Surewoods and Grizzly broadheads....had great penetration, the arrow eventually went all the way through, broke, and was found on the trail. Many thanks to my excellent and outstanding guide Josh Cranson of Paonia. I have never had a more exciting hunt. V/R..
