Quality Traditional Leather Shooting Gloves
« on: September 25, 2013, 12:58:00 PM »
Where has the quality gone for leather goods, went to buy a Damascus Glove at a local archery shop and it looked like it was made from man made leather and the large was more like a small. So I ordered one from 3-rivers, same glove, my older Damascus glove is better made and the leather is real. I'm glad I kept all my old gloves, because the quality of leather goods today is terrible.

I just ordered a American Leathers after seeing one in person at a bowshoot. Quality for sure!

I have also had good luck with the Goat skin from KK. Last a long time and the price is right.

I agree I just got a new Damascus from 3 Rivers also  and it's not near as good as my old one ( glad I kept my old one too ) it almost seems like  it made of vinyl. And it a light hideous brown. Like a 70s vinyl couch.

For me the American Leather "Crossover" is one of the very best gloves I have ever used. Well worth every cent.

I've tried the American Leather and no doubt they are quality, but I just can't get the feel down. Just the regular old Neet suede leather upper and regular leather on the finger tips is pretty good quality. The finger tips are pretty thick leather.

American leathers for me too. I love the big shot. Its the closest thing I can find to a neet glove. I love the neets but wear em out in a month. Not so with the big shot its built to last.

Been very impressed with Black Widow Stick tight thus far.  And a GREAT price under $20.

I've shot Damascus and Neet in the past. Finally I settled on making a two layered tab of my own fashion. Just before spring turkey season, I pulled the trigger and bought an American Leathers Big Shot. Far superior to anything I've ever used. I still go back to the tab for indoor target shooting sometimes, but the Big Shot is by far my favorite.

HH Deluxe. you have to break 'em in. takes a bit but like a good back quiver or quality mocassins they have to form to your anatomy. once there they are like a part of you.

I think it is like a lot of business' these days. Things have gotten very price oriented and competitive. When that happens quality is the first thing out the door.

My favorite was my Berlin glove made by Berlin Glove Company.  Nothing like it.  Unfortunately they make them no more.
