Buck
« on: September 25, 2013, 10:12:00 PM »
Had this little fella come through tonight and I snapped some photos on the phone. I heard him coming through the corn field. Man I was hoping he was the boss. Nice young 10 point. Like seeing them. He ended up walking right under me, eating leaves the whole way. Never made me. He better wise up before the gun season.

I would have had to loose an arrow.
Great restraint

Great photos! I don't think I could have let him walk either but judging by the photo in your avatar this little guy will be safe for a few more years.

I am with you slick head.  Never let one walk early season that you'd shoot late season.

Nice healthy buck.  Must've been fun to take the pics though!

I'm with you TJ. I have a really nice 3 1/2 year old 10 pointer I'm going to pass this year and next. I just hope he stays of the neighbors. Good luck this season buddy!

I am afraid I would have had to take that one . There are much bigger ones but hunting time is limited for me . Thanks for sharing those pics and giving us a little tease .   :clapper:

Nice, our season starts in a couple weeks ( oct 1)  but they are well out of velvet here by then,  we may have to make a trip sometime to hunt the early season.  Good luck!

Yeah, he sticks around a guy in a stand too many times like that and he will not be long for this world!

Good luck getting the big boy, TJ!

Thanks for sharing! That'd be a tough call for me. I know I should let him walk, but where I hunt that's a pretty good buck. And after not loosing an arrow last season because of that reason or waiting for a better shot on a few does, my freezer is about empty. I think he's lucky he walked by you and not me! Lol.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Great photos. Nice young buck. Completely understand letting him walk. Dead bucks don't grow. Hope the Boss shows up soon for ya! Good luck this season Tom.

Great pics...got me all fired up for our opener next week.
Side note if that buck walks over to my stand he will have a red spot on his side and feel light headed for a few seconds...lol

Nice buck. Notice the rows of spots on his back? That is common on  bucks in my area as well. Great pics.
