Way to go Gerald, glad you got one. I came real close to dropping the string on a Doe today. I just couldn't get a clear shot at her. Iv' seen 9 Doe in the last two hunts. I'm starting to smell venison!

Big congrats Gerald,Hope you get another one.

I just checked my camera and there's alot more daytime photos being taken.  Good luck to everyone who can get out.  It doesn't look like I'll be getting out again until 28th.

Looks like I'll get out in the AM......1st time here at home. I'll be on the ground with my River Runner looking for anything that offers a good clean shot.

Got some added motivation yesterday - saw an 8 point (possibly 10) at 6:00PM about 80 yards away that didn't come my way.  I tried two soft bleat calls but sunset came and the buck never did.

Good indication that a nice buck is passing at the right time - I just hope we meet before gun season and someone else tags him.  In the last three weeks the scrape neat my stand has been visited - but not when I am there unfortunately.

Fickle wind this AM. Had a deer blow 5 or 6 times just before shooting time, wind was in my face but something set it off. Started to rain a bit. Wind changed and I backed out.

Had a great hunt this morning, minus the deer I sought. Got in very early with plenty of time before the woods lit up. Bumped some deer near my stand.    :knothead:

Id been sitting in the stand for 20 minutes when at 07:00 I heard what surely must have been a murder of some poor critter. Then all was quiet for about 5 minutes when I heard something running toward me from the red pines. Thought it was maybe a fox but it turned out to be 2 fisher cats. The bigger one was chasing another big one although smaller than him. He caught him a couple times in the 100 yards I watched them til they disappeared screeching and rolling the whole way.

At about 09:00 I saw a flock of turkeys and nearly had a chance to bring one home but got busted shifting into position. A good, meatless day.    :campfire:

Hello, Brothers!!!!!

Downed a nice fat 3 point Buck this morning, down on the Fishkill Cemetary property!!!!!

Using my old 1972 Bear Grizzly, shooting an Autumn Orange 2016 tipped with an old Green Bear Razorhead...

The shot looked low,and I actualy thought I missed!!!!! I put it right through his left leg, through his chest putting a big slice in his heart and cutting the right leg coming out. He left a blood trail a blind man could follow, but he ran a heck of a long way... About 200yds!!!!!

I posted the story over on the N.Y. Trad Bowhunters forum... Check out the "Whatcha see today?" thread!!!!!
