Spooked one going in a new spot this morning.Sat till 10 o-clock.Moved to another ridge.Had a nice doe 5yrds from me for about 20min.She would not give me a shot.Thats too close, had to close my eyes a couple times.Got a scrape right in front of me 10 yds.She stood there staring at me like forever.Only good thing she didn,t smell me.Still a great hunt.Had turkeys around me around noon time. They finally left and I snuck out. Will be back earlier in the morning tomorrow.

Had my best hunt of the year today. Havent been out since last Monday but today   4 different deer at all different times came past the stand. The only one to offer me a 10 yard shot was a particular spike horn that has been put on reserve at my friends request. Got into the turkeys again too, very close but no shot.

One of the deer, a small, doe bleated several times as she fed on beech and white acorns but no one came to take advantage of her. I heard another deer bleating at about 12 but never saw it.

This week is gonna be awesome.

Really enjoy you guys' thread. You can take a boy out of the upstate but you can't take it out of him.

all these threads are keeping me fired up! i am sitting in some thick stuff with a few apple trees that are loaded and dropping. in front of me is a cut corn field, behind me is a standing corn field. to me right side is extremely thick brush. there are 2 pounded down trails going right by my stand and blid, its only a matter of time!

Tyler & I went out early this morning. We just had a feeling that "today was the day".....

However, It was not mean't to be. We had a good hunt, saw the normal bunch of squirrels & birds. We called it at noon, and decided to do some scouting on the way out. At one point, Tyler said to me "Dad,LOOK!" Trotting down the hill toward us came a BEAUTIFUL little Red Fox!!! I slipped an arrow from my quiver and nocked it, but he caught my movement and froze..... The arrow was away in a flash, but it missed it's mark, and I heard that old familiar "thunk" that could only be wood,LMAO!!!!! I had buried another old Bear greenie in a dead Ironwood log! I tried to wiggle it out,and pulled the insert out of the broadhead. Then we tried to pry it out with my old Kitredge Keen-Kill..... I only succeeded in bending the crap outa both tools!!!!!

Oh Well, Another greenie gone to Hunting Heaven. I've lost and left so many in the woods over the years.....

I wonder if they'll be waiting when I get there???
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!
