Yesterday was my last shot at it.  I left some boot leather in Letchworth State park and saw some beautiful scenery. I saw 8 does and 3 bucks.  Nothing close enough but had fun none the less.
Congrats to all that have connected this year, and good luck to all that continue to "fling the string" during gun season.

I'll be out with a smokepole tomorrow but good luck to those who are sticking to the bow. I had a fun season with far more close buck encounters than any year I can recall. Mostly small bucks but I did see 2 big guys and had one close enough for a shot but no tag. I got to hunt with a little 48# Northwind recurve I bought years ago,I thought it too light and never used, and found out I like it !Got pass thrus on both my deer with a Wensel on one and a Snuffer on the other. My wife filled a doe tag so with three in the freezer I won't fell pressured to get out when the weather is bad. Other than a longer archery season how could it get any better ?

Noah got his 1st buck now its time to hang up the guns and get a Griffin back in my hands. It seemed like there weren't many gun hunters in the woods this weekend and lots of deer. Late season is looking good. Congrats to all you fellas with deer in the freezer. Great hunt Glen.

Let us know how your hunt went, Ron.  We have a bunch of snow here and I worked on my kitchen and stayed by the woodstove.

9 degree this morning clear and cold and about 4 inches of snow on the ground. I got the pellet stove going, having a cup of coffee and at 72 year old thinking back to those early years when I would already be getting on the wool togs to go sit with the bow. Now it by the TV and heat when it this cold.

Good luck to anyone out there hunting.

I don't blame you a bit, Bill. I wish we had some fresh snow here were I hunt. I would be out still hunting- too cold to sit. The ground is so crunchy, the deer hear you coming a mile away.Besides, there aren't enough deer here to warrant sitting in this kid of cold. I'm sure there are some deer moving around in this kind of cold, but they won't have to worry about me.

Maybe this afternoon it will warm up enough to take some of the crunch off. I've been gun hunting but I've seen a couple of does in the afternoon by one of my bow only stands (too close to a house) so next week if it gets in the 30 degree range I'll head back out with my bow.

Well it was a cool sit this afternoon. 3 hours and I saw 2 grays looking for acorns. On the walk out I saw 2 or 3 deer moving up a gully away from me and then a doe and 2 skippers at 20 yards on the other side of a hedge row on the neighbors land. The land owner saw a buck and 3 does but no shot. When I left my wife said are you going hunting or ice fishing.......LOL!

Went out this Sunday in 4j and it is still getting hit hard by people.  I walked up on one guy and saw another coming in.  Kinda a let down i wanted some piece and quiet.  Still good to get back in the woods.
