angle of feathers

Hi to all,
i am fletching arrows with feathers.  does anyone have a preference as to the degree they angle the feather on the shaft?

i am using the bohning jig, and it works very well.  easy to use. has those adjustments to be able to turn the feather alot or a little.  I decided that more was better(more rotation?), so I adjusted it to get the maximum angle i could without running off the shaft.  i did a few and shot them, and they shoot well as far as i can tell.

any tips?/preferences?

As long as all the base of the feather makes contact with the arrow you should be good.

Put the feather in the clamp, put clamp on arrow, now look  and see if you can see any gaps/light under the feather. If you do then adjust, if not then your good to go.

thanks, i have it set at the maximum angle and the whole feather touches the shaft.
so looks ok!
