Great pics Curt. Man those are some big trees that buck's picking on! I envy you getting to hunt with Cade and get it on video. Good times and great memories. My first grandson just turned two. I'll be building him a little LB soon. Can't wait to spend some time with him roaming the woods.

Kurt - what brand face mask are you wearing?

Congrats on the harvests, too.

The face masks are from Cabela's....they have a real light weight, and a heavier polar stretch one. I have them both...the weather dictates which one I wear.

Cade was a bit disappointed he missed, but as usual he took it in stride.

The shot was right at the edge of where I'd let him shoot. I think that's why he asked if it was "too far".

But he's been shooting his new Stalker recurve so well I just 'knew' he could kill that buck. The shot was right around 20yds...

He said just thinks he got too excited and dropped his arm trying to 'peek'...

As far as the "injury" on the side of the bucks face....bino's showed that he had one of those big fiberous tumors on the side of his face that looked like it had been open somehow.

We're still at it....more vid's and pix to come...

Wow been a while since I updated!

Still working nights, losing sleep, and still trying to hunt some.

I've had some good hunts, I wont bore you with most of them...but I would like to share this one from a couple weeks ago with Cade.

Ever since the week before thanksgiving last year, when I first laid eyes on this buck, I knew I wanted to kill him....BAD!

That day I first saw him, I had him within solid bow range, and only the fact that he was slightly quartering to me, before he picked me out in the skinny tree I climbed kept him alive.

I would see him 2 more times last season, but never remotely close to to shot range.

I figured he was 3 1/2 yrs old by the look of his big body, and even though he was fairly mature, he was just a 6 point....2 big forks, and two brow tines...I wanted him bad!!!

Anyone that knows me, knows I like the "oddball" bucks that others will pass up. Heck I killed two bucks in TX that were considered "cull bucks" by their standards.....I was ticked to get them!!

Cade and I thought and talked about the "Big 6" often through this year leading up the season.

I set a trail cam right under one of our stands in late September and didn't get a chance to check it or hunt the stand for over a month.

The "Big 6" was still alive and I got several pix of him.

I got a chance to hunt 3 times(by myself) down in this area in the next 2 weeks but never saw him.

Cade the whole time was saying he was going to kill the "Big 6"....

Well Cade finally got the chance to hunt this spot in Westchester county me, and guess who showed up first thing!

Thanx guys....I sure hope we get to see him again and get him in tight for a shot!

He's a real stud and still a regular around the property....just got off the phone with the guy who looks over the property and lives there....he said he sees him quite often

I hunted this area this past Monday and for the first time this fall didn't see a deer!

Looks like my next shot at hunting down there will be Monday....
