First Day Hunting
«
on:
September 08, 2007, 12:17:00 AM »
Went out for the first time this season. Just a couple of hours of walking/creeping/sneaking.
The score? I saw 14 does, and 6 bucks. One buck was a nice large 4 point, and I found where he is bedding down, too!
Enough of this, 5 am comes early, and I is going to be between that deer and the water hole at first light!
"Walk softly, and carry a razor sharp stick!

Well, I got to the water hole befire first light, and set up in ambush.
But, the wind just had to change at sun-up and switched directions. Heard something trot off, but never saw what it was. Thwarted again!
Nevertheless, it was a BEAUTIFUL day! Too bad house work and yard work take precidence over this evenings plans. :(
Hope that everyone else hunting today had as great a day as I did!
Best of luck to you all.

Thought I was doing well with 7 does and fawns and almost getting to full draw on a coyote.

Kenny,
Being single, if I don't do it, it don't get done!
Tomorrow is an off day- can't hunt on Sunday. I will still go out an clear some shooting lanes, and lop off some branches so that I can sneak around a little quieter.
