kill shot caught on trail camera
« on: October 01, 2013, 06:46:00 PM »
I killed my first deer with the longbow the other evening and when i went to check the trail can, this is what I found

Yep, that's a CX Heritage 250 tipped with a 175gr Zwickey Delta flying about 175fps about to do work. It showed up great because of the nockturnal lighted nock. Pretty freaking cool right?

Inquisitive.  The near deer appears to be facing you (the path of the arrow) with its head down.  The second quartering toward.  Which one did you shoot at and where were you aiming?

Both look broadside to me, the far right deer has her front leg back some but still shootable.

Cool!  That says something about the trigger speed on your camera unless it was just a coincidence.

That's fast trigger time for the camera. Or did one of the deer move to trigger the camera?

Cool beans!

or perhaps a super slow bow.... no way that this was coincidence.  Though I suppose it could happen!

Now, where is the 30 min later pic?  :-)

two deer are broadside, one facing away.  the closest looks good and broadside to me, head angles toward, but body is good.

Anyway, that's cool!

Here's the doe I harvested. If u look real close at the closest deer there's a set of legs between hers. That's the deer I shot (she was broadside to me). I was sitting in a well hidden ground blind all the way to the left in the pic. I had the camera trigger speed set on every 10sec so it was purely coincidental I caught the shot on camera. I think since it was my first kill, it was destiny

Excellent! Very cool indeed. Nice shot, and congrats on your first harvest. May the good lord bless you with many more to come. I've shot a few in front of cameras, but never captured the arrow in flight or the impact. Truly a once in a lifetime shot.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
