Any western larch woody shooters out there? Right now I'm shooting surewood doug firs, but I'm thinking about trying the larch...dont know anything about it though...
How would you guys rate them in terms of weight, grain straightness and things like that? Are they as good, or maybe better than doug fir?

I'd like to know too as I'm getting ready to buy some more shafts, and I've been thinking about trying something different.

I think the larch shafts are the only kind I haven't tried. I'll keep an eye on this one.

I've had them from Kootenai river Archery , who just so happen to be the sponsor of the week. I loved them. They are very durable, beautiful, good weight and the 2 doz I got where straight as could be.

I have a half dozen that are footed with purple heart. Mine are 55-60 spine and weigh about 690gr but im sure alot of the weight is from the purple heart. They are selfnock and shoot really good out of a 44# longbow. I really wish they shot out of my 53# longbow. I plan on ordering some that are not footed to try out

I got a couple dozen shafts a while back, wasn't impressed at all, not sure if he's worked the kinks out yet or not.

Chundoo, is specifically lodgepole pine.
And that is also a great shaft wood, although slightly heavier !
