Gaiters??

Anybody use leg gaiters?Interested in buying a pair,any suggestions where to get a decent pair?

I wear a pair of black gaiters from Mountain Hardware when there's snow on the ground. They keep the bottoms of my pants dry  and the fit is tight enough so that they don't rub together and make that annoying swishy sound.
I've seen pics of the camo ones from Kuiu and they look really nice, but are probably a bit pricey.

Just bought some.wearing them moose hunting next week.Gonna wear them to keep the bushes from untieing my boots.

I wear a pair of old Swiss military wool-lined gaiters I picked up from Wephaus for cheap.  I am pleased with how they work- tough in the brush too.

Got some cowboy boots made with that stuff. Kinda neat looking.

I have a pair of Kenetreks that are great.  The only "issue" is that they have a LONG piece of velcro that can make a lot of noise if you have to take them off or re-tie your boot.  That being said, what else would you use?  A leaky zipper?  

Gaiters are very valuable for keeping your boots and lower legs dry.

I've used gaiters since the mid-70's (mountaineering and ice climbing).  The best that are now made are Outdoor Research Crocodile gaiters.  Unless you're using crampons and ice climbing you don't need the heavily reinforced expedition version.

I think I have about 4 pair, some very old OR simple regular one, a OR super insulated gaitor set, a newer green pair more hunter friendly color can't remember who made em, and a wool KOM pair, I've used em all over the years depending upon the needed situation, they work

Another palace to look is REI or anybody that sells backpacking and hiking gear.  I wear them all the time, keeps the dirt and needles out of my boots.

I always wanted to try a pair of gaiters for elk hunting so this year I got a set of KUIU.  It was a good year to try them in WY as it rained off and on for 8 days.  Sure was great walking through wet sagebrush and aspens with gaiters.  Definitely will wear them on my next elk hunt.

I bought a set to keep the stickers off my pants leg when hunting in the brush. Lately I've found they also keep snow from getting up under your pants leg & into your boots. I kind of like them.

Mine are from REI, I don't use them too often, but should. I have had them for about 30+ years.  For sure when I am hunting in snow.

Yeah, what he said. I've used them for more than two decades. They add some significant warmth and wetness protection while breathing better than any other gaiter on the market. When they fit right, they'll keep water out of your boots in depths nearly to your knees.  Just make sure you won't need to remove them while you're trying to stay quiet – the velcro on them is tenacious and quite loud when you're pulling it apart.
