Duct Tape ?
« on: October 06, 2013, 12:42:00 AM »
Was hunting this evening and as my mind wandered I , remembered a guy that I used to shoot with back in the mid 1970's . He would use duct tape on his fingers while he hunted so as not to take his shooting glove with him . Has any body else ever heard of this or even tried it ? I have not tried it myself but it might work . Thought I would share this with you , might be a laugh or might be worth a try .

Why wouldn't he take his shooting glove? Duct tape may be good in a pinch. In fact I'm sure for now more than 1-2 shots it would work fine. I'm just curious why? Unless he forgot or lost his glove....

I've used camo duct tape around my bow arm to keep the loose clothing out of the way.  But not on my fingers.  Interesting...

If duct tape can't fix it, you really don't need it!

People in the know have gone to Gorilla tape and Gorilla glue for all of their redneck quick fixes, (as in my basement shower, where I dropped a pipe wrench and cracked the shower base), duct tape is old school.

truckfarmer..No gloves are those rubber bumpers that people put on strings to keep from using a glove.  I think that's what swamper is talking about.  A LOT tougher than I am if I'm wrong...lol

I haven't tried it on my hunting bow yet but I use peep sight tubing for a wheeley bow on my fishing bow and shoot bare fingered. I just put a small section over my serving and it works great to protect my fingers. I just pull it over the end with a bobbie pin like you would a brush button or the no gloves.

haven't used duct tape but have used athletic tape under my regular camo gloves with good results.
