First deer of the season ...
« on: September 08, 2007, 01:52:00 PM »
Yep, I drew on the first deer of the season this morning.    :D

Decided to hunt on the ground, nice doe about 15 yards away.  She never saw me, but she also never gave me a good shot.  Close, but no ceegar.

Georgia opener as well.  Saw seven and had one fawn at about 11 yards.  I know everyone says to "pick a spot" but I couldn't do it.  I was also about an inch from my anchor point on a coyote but it stepped behind a tree before full draw.  Lucky dog.  Had a white tip on his tail and I hesitated thinking maybe it was a fox.  An best of all, only one mosquito.  Didn't even turn on the Thermacell.  Of course we could use some rain.
